Brandid Sports: Lewisville (TX) Avenges Loss To Arlington Martin (TX)

The Lewisville Fighting Farmers had a year to think about the 68-0 loss to Arlington Martin the suffered in the second round of the playoffs last year. So you can say they were ready for opportunity to avenge the loss and that they did. Lewisville beat Martin

The Fighting Farmers used an opportunistic defense and a strong run game to move on to the third round. Lewisville controlled both lines of scrimmage out rushing Martin 296-30. senior Running Back Damien Martinez led the Fighting Farmers with 239 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Oregon State commit knew he would be a big part of the game plan. "We had a great plan. Execute, that's what we do, that's what we knew what we had to do against this team, because it was going to be a four quarter battle." Martinez

The Lewisville defense caused 2 turnovers and even score points of their own when super sophomore Defense Back Jaydan Hardy scooped and score a Ke'Marion Jones forced fumble. "It's amazing! Ken coming through stripping it out and I just came through scooped and scored it." Hardy

Martin had some bright spots. Senior Quarterback Cydd Ford threw for 195 yards and a score to junior Running Back Sergio Snider. Sophomore Running Back Tristan Bittle rushed for the Warriors other touchdown and Junior Athlete Gage Wager scored a 2-point conversion. Defensively, junior Defensive Back Javien Toviano made some nice plays all night.

Lewisville Head Football Coach Michael Odle gave all the credit to his players and staff. "Kudus to our coaches and kids for getting it done. The coaches getting the plan down and the kids just being hungry and thirsty to come in the building and win each day."
