Frisco Liberty Outlast Prosper Rock Hill


Frisco Liberty (TX) used an explosive offense and relentless defense to outduel Prosper Rock Hill 43-36. Liberty put the ball in junior quarterback Keldric Luster’s hand and he put the team on his back to lead the Redhawks to victory.

Luster, was very efficient throwing 21-23 for 268 yards and 3 touchdowns. He used his arm and legs to create plays for the Redhawks offense. Luster, rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown also. The game plan tonight was to get the ball in the ballers’ hands” Luster.

The Redhawks were without five-star receiver Evan Stewart and a few key players, but it was next man up for the Liberty offense. Lawson Towne led the receiving core with 6 catches for 107 yards and a score. Kamryn Smith and Cade McGarrh caught touchdown passes from Luster also. Running back Jack Ryan rushed for 46 yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground, while catching 6 passes for 60 yards. Senior cornerback had an impressive game with great coverage and a late interception.


Rock Hill had a chance to win or tie the game, but could not recover an onside kick with under a minute left in the game. Senior quarterback Brenner Cox almost led the Blue Hawks to an impressive comeback win. Cox, a Texas baseball commit, threw for 293 yards and 2 touchdowns. He rushed 37 yards and a score too.

Receivers Ryan Threat and Luke Knight were Cox’s favorite targets on the night. Threat caught 7 balls for 157 and a score, while Knight caught 3 balls for 95 yards and 2 scores. Donovan Shannon led the Blue Hawks rushing attack with 107 yards and two scores. Senior safety Joseph McGinnis was all over the field with 13 tackles and 2 pass break ups.


Liberty plays district rival Frisco Memorial and Rock Hill will face Princeton at home next week.
