The linebacker position is sometimes a position that gets overlooked and is undervalued. Having a field general and leader at the middle linebacker position is just as important as the quarterback position is to a successful offense.

At Rock Hill HS in Prosper, Class of 2024 middle linebacker Jonah Bowman has been making an impact each week for the Bluehawks defensively.

At 6’2 215 lbs. , Bowman has next level size and passes the eye test. Jonah is physical at the point of attack, takes on blocks well, has violent hands when he takes on linemen and uses great leverage. Bowman tackles well in the open field, takes good pursuit angles and this season has shown that he can be a weapon in the Bluehawks blitz packages. Bowman has the versatility to line up and be a factor from multiple positions within the Rock Hill defense. Bowman seems to thrive at the Mike or Middle Linebacker position. Jonah flows from sideline to sideline well, and reads his keys well which allows him to diagnose plays quickly. Through nine games in 2021, Bowman has 78 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, and a sack. Against Frisco, Jonah lead the Bluehawks posting 11 solo tackles, 2 assist, 2 tackles for loss and a quarterback sack.

Bowman’s stock is rising and is a player who is definitely on the Hit Your Marc watch list.
