Frisco Centennial (TX) Battles Back To Beat Sherman (TX)

The Frisco Centennial Titans took the word finish to heart as they overcome a 20-point 4th quarter deficit to defeat a talented Sherman Bearcat team. The Titans scored 35 straight points in the 4th quarter to secure a 49-34 victory Thursday night at Kuykendall Stadium in Frisco, Texas.

The Titans used their run game to wear down there Bearcat defense rushing for 243 yards. Senior Running Back Harry Stewart was a workhorse for the Titans offense. The Kansas commit, led the Titan rushing attach with 168 yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground. Senior Running Back I'Javin Roberts was another big contributor with 60 yards on the ground and an impressive 34-yard touchdown run. Senior Quarterback Jace Patton made some big plays with his arms and his legs. Patton threw for 133 yards that included a 29-yard Junior Wideout Ramsey Meadors touchdown and rushed for 2 touchdowns also.

The Centennial defense came up with some big plays in the 2nd half to setup their offense with good field position. Senior Cornerback Chance Robbins had 2 interceptions that helped seal the Titans victory. Robbins returned a blocked punt for a touchdown for the Titans also. Other defensive standouts for the Titans were Junior Linebacker David Adegbenro, Senior Linebacker Mahendar Kattamuri, and Senior Linebacker Caden Whittle.



The Bearcats led until the 4th quarter. Junior Athletes Kane Bowen (139 yards and 2 TDs) and Colby Ray Short (116 yards receiving and 1 rushing TD) were all over the field making plays in all three phases of the game. Junior Quarterback Caleb Orr connected with Junior Randy Nelson for the first touchdown of the game and Sophomore Trevor Pugh had a 10 yard touchdown also.


Juniors Cornerback Elijah West (Interception), Outside Linebacker Mike Collins, Senior Linebacker Dante Colon, and Senior Cornerback Jaze Drost were defensive standouts for the Bearcats.


Centennial (2-1) will face district foe Frisco Friday night. While Sherman (1-2) will face Frisco Lebanon Trail at home Friday night.
