Coppell Defends It's Turf Against Lewisville (TX)

Some might call it an upset, but the Coppell Cowboys called it a win. Coppell used a balance offensive attack and a solid defense to get a 49-28 victory to remain undefeated.



The Cowboys outgained Lewisville 529 to 350 total yards. Junior Quarterback Edward Griffin went 23-28 for 313 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also rushed for another. Griffin spread the wealth to multiple wideouts like Luca Grosoli (6 Catches), Ayrion Sneed (5 Catches), and Tucker Casano (TD Reception). The Cowboys rushing attack was led by O'Marion Mbakwe (107 yards) and Xavier Mosley (84 and two touchdowns).

Lewisville was led by Tulsa commit Viron Ellison. Ellison rushed for 146 yards and 2 touchdowns, caught 3 passes for 93 yards and 2 scores,

Jackson State commit Ethan Terrell threw for 175 yards and 2 scores.


Coppell (5-0) will face Flower Mound Marcus and Lewisville (3-2) will face Plano West Friday night.
